Forget Me Not: A Styled Couple’s Shoot

This was my second styled shoot of this year, allowing me to test out my new (at least it was new to me then) 50mm Canon f/1.4 lens. My model-friend, Dakota brought along a male model to the Tennessee River for this Lana Del Rey, sad-girl inspired shoot.

To make the photos have a vintage look, I desaturated the photos in Lightroom (I’ve made my own preset to get the same look across all of the photos) and added some grain. While I’ve had to be careful with adding too much grain in Lightroom (I’ve found it makes the photos look overprocessed and tacky) for the vintage effect, I think these photos, already rich in color, can handle the subtle processing.
